How to Prepare Your Easter Lasagna
Traditionally, Lasagna al Forno is made with beef mince, but we’ve put a delicious twist on this classic recipe by using Sicilian sausage mince with wild fennel. The result? A richer, more flavorful ragu that brings a true taste of southern Italy to your Easter feast!
Serves:
2 People: Use 250g Sicilian sausage mince, 250g passata, 250ml béchamel, 250g lasagna sheets, 100g Parmigiano Reggiano
(4 People: Double it)
⏳ Total Time: ~1 hour (Prep: 15 min, Cooking: 45 min)
Step 1: Make the Ragu (15 min)

Heat 1 tbsp olive oil in a pan over medium heat.

Brown the Sicilian sausage mince (250g for 2 people, 500g for 4 people) until golden and fragrant.

Add passata (250g for 2 people, 500g for 4 people) and season with salt & pepper.

Simmer for 15 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Step 2: Layer the Lasagna (10 min)

In an ovenproof dish, spread a thin layer of ragu on the bottom.

Add a layer of lasagna sheets, followed by béchamel (125ml per layer for 2, 250ml per layer for 4).

Sprinkle with grated Parmigiano Reggiano (50g per layer for 2, 100g per layer for 4).

Repeat until you’ve used all the ingredients, finishing with béchamel & Parmigiano on top.
Step 3: Bake Until Golden (30 min)

Preheat oven to 180°C (Fan 160°C) / 350°F / Gas Mark 4.

Cover with foil and bake for 20 minutes.

Remove foil and bake uncovered for 10-15 minutes, until golden and bubbling.

Let the lasagna rest for 5 minutes before slicing.
